Program Overview
MCHUSA has developed an integrated physical therapy, health, nutrition, and wellness program for Guyana. The program is offered in two distinct environments: the Rustic Setting and the Traditional Setting.
Physical therapy exercise programs focus on the gross motor skills that provide restorative or maintenance regimes for persons who have medical conditions that can be alleviated with these exercises. The exercises include aqua therapy, using the buoyancy of water to assist persons with the physical demands of the program. The exercises are usually prescribed by Physiatrists and administered by licensed physical therapists or therapy assistants.
The medical recommendation that provides a combination of exercises and nutrition defines the wellness program. It allows the collaboration between therapy and nutrition to produce healthy living and longevity.
The program provides five (5) days of intensive physical therapy, nutritional and leisure activities. Licensed Physical Therapists and experienced nutritionists and wellness coaches will provide the services.
